I won this rather nice pumpkin centerpiece with vanilla tea candles, glass acorns, and oak leaf sprays in the raffle at the October mixer for the Oakley Chamber of Commerce. The gift was provided by the City of Oakley. We always buy raffle tickets, but don’t always win prizes, and this mixer was quite well attended–packed with political candidates, among others. Hostess Wendy Lou Turner got lots of compliments on her homemade goodies.
Like me, Wendy works at home, though unlike me, she’s hoping to move into a separate office soon. (It’s more appropriate for the nature of her work, which is holistic health counseling.) She held the mixer at the chamber offices, which were something of a tight fit for the crowd, though not as tight as I might have imagined from the directors’ meetings.
