When I went to Oakley Chiropractic for my first appointment with the brilliant Dr. Kristin Mattingly, I took my camera. The aim was to get a shot of the announcement of our Mayor Breakfast on the city’s marquee, but since I was there, I decided to photograph more of the downtown area near the civic center.
Really, we might as well be in the Midwest. This building would not be out of place in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

The now-closed CentrOMart may be the site of the new Oakley Public Library. I’m in favor of that, since it would be much more convenient to me than the current location out at Freedom High.

There’s office space for rent at the front of this Craftsman building on Main Street in Oakley.
Panaderia La Michoacana. “Panaderia” is Spanish for “bakery.” Oakley has a substantial Hispanic population and several specialty stores.
I parked in front of the Scheer building because I figured Doug wouldn’t mind, but later discovered that there is in fact a lot behind Oakley Chiropractic. Scheer Security is actually at the back of this building.
Tower Market and Gas, across the street from Oakley Chiropractic. Gas is cheaper at the Arco on Bridgehead Road, so I usually go there instead.
It was the “Now accepting Kaiser patients” sign that persuaded me to talk to Kristin about helping with my banjaxed right shoulder.
